"This, my dear friends, is a story that will take you to the highest mountains of Sweden, to frozen lakes, to darkness and cold nights, struggles and failures, but also to sunshine, powder, and never-ending days in the north. Settle in, grab a drink (we prefer coffee) and let me tell you about an unforgettable journey in the northern parts of Sweden.” / Malou & Kajsa
On a runestone in Sweden, carved by Vikings, the oldest known depiction of a skier can be found. The skier is Ullr, the Norse god of snow. Skadi, the Norse goddess of winter and skiing, rules over mountains, wilderness, winter, revenge, knowledge, justice, and independence.
Skadi is determined to live life on her own terms, refusing to be controlled by the gods of Asgard. Since ancient times, Swedish female skiers have carried on Skadi’s legacy, shaping the sport into what it is today.
Now, Kajsa and Malou will do the same—through rugged weather, darkness, and light—with Skadi as their guide.
